legionella in london- bad news/good news

The latest drama in our family – annabel received a letter from her flat’s mgmt company the other day informing that the building’s water supply contains dangerous letter of the 2/14 legionella bacteria- needless to say she and her 2 roommates  were immediately evacuated to chez us (their families live in Geneva) while we figure out where they are going to live next. ( because they are not going back and oh, by the way this is a very respectable building in kensington/hammersmith border). The good news is that this vastly increases my model pool and I’ve managed to get some new items photographed at last. The bad news is that annabel is at the age of 20 well on her way to eclipsing my record of weird, outrageous  life  dramas.

Sophie photos particularly well and we’ll catch Jen yet-1st-br-lace-card-doc-img_7077sock-mitts-ipod-doc

IKNIT DAY AMAZING

What an amazing day at IKNIT’s saturday knitter’s paradise. My table is looking messy- will try to clean up the presentation before the Creative Crafts show next week in Escher!

knitting in nuremberg

Proving that I have raised my chldren properly, Alex sent me this pic of a yarn shop in Nuremberg. However, her instincts are not all right- She did not go in! So where’s the wollmeise- where are the Suzanne ebony needles? Off to Berlin in a few weeks to visit her and get the goods-

Reincarnation

So this was the shawl that turned into another shawl that then  was started as a tank top which then had designs as a beach cover up but finally found life as a boring old cardigan which is my favorite of all its incarnations ( really crummy picture I know, but derek the photographer is in France).

So just how many times can Blue heron rayon metallic yarn be frogged? you count… This yarn is amazing. I still want to do a beach coverup though but somehow this rather ordinary cardigan felt right and looks great on.

Have also just finished a project for Rio de la Plata- but I’d better get it to Mauricio before showing it here..

creative crafts and stitch show somerset

annabel at somerset

here’s annabel in our stand at the creative crafts show in somerset-she’s sporting a new Blue Heron cardi-knitted in the cotten Texture yarn and trimmed in Beaded Metallic. I was pleased with the results of the show-especially considering this was our first venture into the realm of knitting shows and this particular one seemed heavily weighted towards card and scrap bookers. best sellers were the soft spun alpaca/merino, sock yarns and Rio de la plata yarns. The Blue Heron yarns were a big draw into the stand-

We met lots of lovely knitters and made some new client friends so hopefully will return to this area.

I LOVED SOMERSET- the area was just stunning and reminded me of New England (southern vermont esp.)For the 5 days we rented a lovely cottage and could look out at the adorable sheepies from the patio. this was our view

I was dismayed by the lack of interest in the needlepoint canvases- where are all the fine tapestry lovers?
